What does it take to be a Hakimah these days? Pretty much the same passion and dedication to the arts and sciences of healing that characterized the Hikma medicine of years gone by.
A holistic approach that sees physical ailments as a manifestation of inner mental, emotional and spiritual states and seeks to rebalance all is the goal of good therapy.
Hafsa has lived and studied healing modalities and Islam in the UK, Middle East and Asia. Her many teachers include her father Shaykh Suhaib Hasan, the well-known Hakim Archuletta and Prof George Vithoulkas. She is passionate about reviving the tradition of female community healers and attributes much of her skills to the wisdom of Mothers.
